- Compare renewable energy sources and how each is generated
- Design and test solutions through fair, controlled experiments
- Use real data to balance supply and demand
- Program automated systems to improve efficiency
- Discover careers in clean energy engineering, trades and infrastructure
The energy of tomorrow gets designed, tested and driven.
9:30am–2:30pm | Up to 80 students
Inside Renewables puts students at the centre of the clean energy transition: generating energy, storing it, moving it and distributing it. Every workshop tackles a different form of energy and a different engineering challenge on the road to a sustainable future.
Workshops
Students rotate through workshops in small groups.
- Energy Grid Design: Students combine solar, wind and storage into a smart energy grid, using real data to balance supply against demand.
- Hydrogen Cars: Students discover how hydrogen is produced and how a fuel cell turns it into motion, then engineer and race their own hydrogen-powered cars.
- Solar: Students program solar panels to track the sun for maximum power, building the automation skills used on real solar farms.
- Wind Energy: Students build and test wind turbines, experimenting with blade number, size and shape to find the most efficient design.
