- Practise first aid, CPR and diagnostic skills on a high-fidelity simulated patient
- Explore how the body's organ systems work together
- Code an autonomous flight mission
- Design for a real person's needs using CAD
- Discover careers across biomedical engineering, allied health and medical technology
From diagnosis to design: health that is engineered.
9:30am–2:30pm | Up to 80 students
Inside Healthcare takes students to the frontier of medical innovation, where engineering and biology meet to solve real health challenges. Every workshop shows a different way technology is transforming patient care.
Workshops
Students rotate through workshops in small groups.
- Drone Delivery: A donor heart is ready and the clock is ticking. Students code a drone to fly a critical delivery mission and discover how autonomous flight is changing emergency medicine.
- Health Check: Working with a high-fidelity robotic patient, students take vitals, perform CPR, test blood types and run real diagnostics.
- Prosthetic Design: Students learn the CAD skills prosthetics engineers use every day and design a prosthetic limb.
- VR Body Systems: Students journey through organs and body systems at full scale in virtual reality, then use what they've learned on a virtual patient.
