Design in VR aligns with the Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0 (Years 7–10) across Technologies and The Arts.

  • Students design and interact with immersive digital environments, exploring user experience, digital systems, and emerging technologies (Digital Technologies).
  • Through hands-on creation in virtual space, students apply design thinking to generate, test, and refine ideas (Design and Technologies), while communicating meaning using form, space, and visual conventions (Visual Communication Design).

The program also supports the development of Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal and Social Capability, and Ethical Capability.

  • Create worlds, not just drawings – VR is used in gaming, animation, film and virtual experiences to design immersive environments people can step into.
  • Design the future – Architects, builders and engineers use VR to walk through buildings before they’re built, test ideas, and solve problems early.
  • Tech that helps people – In health and rehabilitation, VR is used for physical therapy, mental health support, and medical training.
  • Train for real-world jobs – VR is used to safely train pilots, surgeons, electricians, and emergency responders in realistic simulations.
  • Blend creativity and tech – Careers in UX/UI design, product design, digital art and interactive media combine imagination with cutting-edge tools.
